Move 1: Use your Magic Thumb to flick 1 bead UP to touch the bridge (the center bar). That is "1"!
Move 2: Use your Pointer Finger to push it back DOWN. Now it's "0" again.
The Secret: The top bead is the "Boss". It's worth 5 soldiers!
Move: Pull the Boss DOWN to the bridge. You just added 5! Push it back UP to say goodbye to 5.
Minute Step 1: Put 2 beads UP. (Thumb power!)
Minute Step 2: Oh no! We need to add 4, but only 2 beads are left at the bottom. Help!
Minute Step 3: Call the Boss! Pull the Top Bead DOWN (+5) and pull 1 Small Bead DOWN (-1). Because 5 - 1 = 4!
Look: You have a Boss and 1 soldier. 5 + 1 = 6!
Minute Step 1: Put 47 on the rods (4 on Tens, 7 on Ones).
Minute Step 2: Add 40 to the Tens. Not enough beads? Use the 100-Friend! Add 1 bead to the 100s rod and take away 60 from the Tens rod.
Minute Step 3: Now add 9 to the Ones. Not enough room? Add 1 bead to the Tens rod and take away 1 from the Ones rod.
Result: 9 on Tens, 6 on Ones. Answer: 96!
Minute Step 1: Put "5" on the Thousands rod. All other rods are empty (Zeros!).
Minute Step 2: To take away 1000, move the "5" Boss UP and put 4 soldiers UP. Now you have 4000.
Minute Step 3: Keep "borrowing" across the empty islands until you can take away 200, then 30, then 4.
Answer: 3 on Thousands, 7 on Hundreds, 6 on Tens, 6 on Ones. 3766!
